We provided construction surveying services for all aspects of this mega-project.





ST. GEORGE POWER DAM PROJECT

This construction survey included the installation of a new hydro power dam, power house, and complete tunnel surveys.








IRVING OIL HOME OFFICE

Uptown Saint John, New Brunswick


In this 11-storey office building, we conducted boundary retracement and topographic surveys of the site, as well as construction layout and quality control. An HDS laser scan of the floor surfaces was conducted in order to populate data for the Building Information Model (BIM).

PIPELINE SURVEYS

BRUNSWICK PIPELINE PROJECT

Hughes Surveys & Consultants Inc was the lead survey consultant for the construction of this 145-kilometre natural gas pipeline from Canaport™ in Saint John to Baileyville, Maine. Our team also performed legal surveys, right of way surveys, and construction surveys for this project.

CORRIDOR RESOURCES MCCULLY FIELD PROJECT

This project included surveying for the construction of 60 kilometres of 30-centimetre natural gas pipeline lateral.

SAINT JOHN SAFE CLEAN DRINKING WATER PROJECT

Saint John, New Brunswick

In this drinking water improvement project for the City of Saint John, we provided the following services:

• Volume calculations for a treatment plant site

IRVING PULP AND PAPER PROJECT

We applied our engineering survey expertise to assist in the installation and alignment of a new rotary lime kiln.

IRON ORE COMPANY OF CANADA PROJECT

Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador

We provided engineering and alignment surveys for rebuilding of pelletizing machines, conveyors, and rock crushers in Labrador City.

HYDROGRAPHIC SURVEYS

PETITCODIAC RIVER SILTATION STUDY

Petitcodiac, New Brunswick (2003 to Present)

This ongoing hydrographic survey is being conducted to determine the rate and cause of sedimentation and rejuvenation of the Petitcodiac River.

CANAPORT LNG TERMINAL

Saint John, New Brunswick

As well as being involved in the initial bathymetric survey of this site and aligning the sector light for the shipping channel approach, we have recently provided an updated, detailed bathymetric survey of the existing conditions at the wharf.

SURVEY OF THE UPPER ST. JOHN RIVER SYSTEM

Spanning from Perth-Andover to the Aroostook river inlet, this hydrographic survey was conducted to obtain information for flood control and flow modelling.

PORT OF BELLEDUNE EXPANSION PROJECT

We completed hydrographic surveys to determine volumes of dredge and fill materials to aid in the placement of wharf caissons.

HEAD PONDS SURVEYS

NEW BRUNSWICK POWER — GRAND FALLS AND TOBIQUE NARROWS DAMS

We completed a hydrographic survey of the head ponds above New Brunswick Power’s Grand Falls and Tobique Narrows dams.

HDS LASER SCANNING

IRVING OIL REFINERY UPGRADE PROJECT

This project involved the scanning of several plant process areas to facilitate a 3D design project.

LOUISIANA PACIFIC CORPORATION PROJECT

New Limerick, Maine

We conducted laser scanning of the complete production facility of the OSB wood fibre mill manufacturing plant.

COURTENAY BAY GENERATING STATION WALL DEFORMATION SURVEY

Saint John, New Brunswick

This deformation survey of the building wall panels was completed using our Leica Geosystems HDS laser scanner. High-density scans were conducted on several wall panels over a period of years and the resulting surfaces were compared using our state-of-the-art software. Comprehensive reports were produced to assist our clients in determining the magnitude and direction of any movement of the structure.
