Accounts Receivable/Payroll Clerk

           

Hughes Surveys & Consultants Inc. is a privately owned surveying & engineering consulting firm based in Saint John, New Brunswick employing over thirty professionals and support staff.

 

We have an immediate opening for the position of Accounts Receivable/Payroll clerk.

 

This position will require a minimum of three years experience in an

Accounting role, as well as, proficiency in Excel and knowledge of

AccPac Accounting software.  Knowledge of Abak Time & Billing software

will be considered an asset.

 

Job Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

 

§  All aspects of the Accounts Receivable function including invoicing, collecting accounts, and providing timely and accurate information to the Chief Accountant.

 

§  All aspects of the Payroll function including reviewing employee time sheets, posting payroll through AccPac, and maintaining and administering Group Insurance and RRSP programs.

 

The ideal candidate will be an energetic self-starter with a strong desire to learn and to help out in a busy environment.   Strong communication skills are essential.  A strong work ethic, combined with an eye for detail are desired qualities.

Senior Civil/Municipal Design Engineer

We are currently seeking applications for the position of Senior Civil / Municipal Design

Engineer from qualified individuals. In this position you will be responsible for the design and project management of sanitary sewer and storm water systems, water systems, roads and other infrastructure.  You will report directly to the owners/partners of the company.

Duties:

§  Municipal Infrastructure knowledge including water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, storm water management, highways and roads;

§  Technical report preparation;

§  Cost monitoring, including control and schedule on projects and communication with the client;

§  Contractor relations for projects going through the tendering and construction phases;

§  Supervision of design of specific projects, including coordination of drafting personnel, guidance of technical staff, client liaison, technical reviews, preparation of project specifications and resolving various engineering problems;

§  Budget management and ensure adequate staff on-hand to properly execute projects;

§  Meet client requirements as per contractual agreements;

§  Maintain existing business relationships and build new ones;

§  Project lead on new engineering projects

Qualifications:

§  Degree in Civil Engineering with eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGNB;

§  Have a desire to succeed and a strong ability to take initiative;

§  Familiarity and competence with design software, word processing, and spreadsheets;

§  Strong problem solving skills;

§  Proficiency with Civil 3D Software will be an asset;

§  Minimum of 8 years of relevant municipal engineering experience.
